There are many businesses out there for women who want to become their own boss and earn money working hours that fit into their time schedule. Depending on your talent and skills, you may have much to offer by starting your own business.

1. Photography

Many women get started in photography from a hobby that turns into something much more. It is easy to begin and while you are honing your skills, you can offer free portraits and pictures to build up your portfolio that you will use to attract your paying customers. Start up is minimal only needing a camera and good editing software.

2. Blogging

Blogging is another business that many women turn to as they share their insights on different topics from children to home decorating and even beauty. Whatever your passion you will be able to find your perfect niche. Blogging is another minimal start up that you can even build while working a full time job until you are ready to take the leap.

3. Writing/Copywriting

Then perhaps copywriting/editing is your thing. Being a freelance writer is simple to begin. Just have a portfolio of examples ready, and there are many places where you can find jobs as you build up your clientele, such as Fiverr and Upwork.

4. Dropshipping

Dropshipping is something that has been around for some time now. It simply involves curating a product that you would like to sell and creating a website for that product or products. Shopify and WordPress do make it easy to start a dropshipping business. They have plug-ins that allow you to go to the source and select items you want to sell and import them into your store. You do not have to keep any inventory. Customers purchase from your site and the company delivers the product to the customer.

5. Virtual Assistant

Do you have office skills? Perhaps you may consider becoming a virtual assistant. Virtual assistants help employers by completing office management needs remotely. You would be required to do anything from correspondence, travel arrangements, organization of schedules, and any other office assistant job as needed. This is something that you could do through freelancing.

6. Online Tutoring

Online tutoring is a need with so many whose education was interrupted during COVID-19 school close downs, plus many parents are seeking ways to make sure that their child is successful in school. Whether offering services through an online skill share or creating a platform of your own to offer services, online tutoring can give you the opportunity to help students in subjects where they may struggle. You could even create small courses to help students learn and keep things completely hands-off.

7. Reselling

Do you have the knack to find great deals or quality products? Then considering starting a reselling business. While some start with the reselling business through curating items from thrift stores and outlets, reselling doesn’t have to involve that. Reselling is simply selling another item that has been sold before. Some begin by purchasing pallets or going to bin stores that sell discounted items in bulk from other stores. Reselling can be a very lucrative business opportunity, but it will take a good amount of money upfront to start due to the purchasing of products to sell.

8. Selling Handcrafted Items

Many have begun their entrepreneur journeys by turning hobbies into businesses. Whether you sew, quilt, knit, crochet, or papercraft, there is a market for your unique products. Some have started their businesses just through friends while others have branched out onto sites like Etsy.

9. Fashion Boutiques for Adults

Curate, create a brand, and launch a store. Online shopping is still growing as people prefer to shop from the comfort of home. You can open an online and brick-and-mortar store to draw in more customers. Keep your shop stocked, and sell. Video and platforms like Facebook live, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram have helped get many noticed by potential customers.

10. Children’s Boutique

If you know where to purchase items, many places will provide you with the pictures to sell your items. You show them to your audience, and only purchase what you sell. Items are shipped to you, and you can get them to your customer. Several women started their businesses this way that I personally know. They created a Facebook group and sold through there before expanding.
