Sometimes the Best Sellers will surprise you

If you are handmade business owner like myself, chances are that you have been looking for new avenues where you can sell your products. I try to make sure that I’m not only selling on my website, but I want to sell on other platforms to increase my traffic and sells. The main reason for this is that you never know where your traffic is going to come from.

When TikTok started their shops here in the US, I decided to jump on board. The only issue I currently have is that I sell a lot of children’s clothing, but they are selective as to who they allow to sell children’s clothing on TikTok. It’s understandable due to the CPSIA compliance.

The only caveat to selling on TikTok is that the products that I have on there are varied. Aprons, kitchen items, some adult clothing, earrings, and keychains are what currently stock my shop. I have these same items listed on my Facebook shop, so imagine my surprise when the big seller of the day on TikTok was my keychains.

What?

I have handmade aprons. I have earrings. I have handmade clothing. Handmade kitchen items.

The big seller? Keychains.

This made me think… What if I had more than just 2 designs of keychains? What would happen then? Would I suddenly have an influx of sales?

I wanted to test that theory out, but unfortunately my supplies I ordered still aren’t here. Bummer!

Plus, to go with these keychains, I decided to add some purses and wallets into the mix. I mean, why not? You never know when the next Big Seller is going to jump into the spotlight. Sometimes you have to just throw things at the wall until they stick.
