My Blogging Business: Downsizing

Downsizing. At first the word seemed like I was giving up, but after some thought, I realized how freeing it actually was in the long run. While I run several websites (10 to be exact), I was back to feeling overwhelmed and not blogging like I should be. Some of my blogs I managed to keep up with, but some were starting to fall far behind the rest.

I had an opportunity to throw some ideas at my son, and he had a great response. It wasn’t something that I hadn’t already thought about. I had considered it many times in the last month. But I was unsure as to what that would mean for me.

I had been cautious about having a consistent brand, but I hadn’t considered the implications of having 3 separate brands. The truth was I needed to have one and not three. As I considered what I could do away with, I realized I didn’t. Instead, I wanted to put everything under one brand like I planned to do last year. So I took a leap of faith and started merging. Now I only have to promote on multiple accounts on multiple social media platforms. Overnight, my traffic tripled.

As for my blogs, I had to make a decision about those as well. I had to decide which ones I wanted to keep. Really keep. All in all, I went from 10 to 8 and now 6. Five, if you consider that I have one as an AI experiment. Hopefully, I’ll have more to tell you next week after I have a week of downsized responsibilities.
