My Blogging Journey: Finding the Sweet Spot

When it comes to advertising and growing your business, you have to find just the right niche to throw all of your time into so that you can become successful. If you’ve followed along with me, you know that I have several blogs that I run that range in subjects from teaching to recipes to retail. What I learned this week was that my teaching blog is currently the sweet spot. It is getting the most views as well as the most ad impressions. Plus, it is making the most money.

Why does that matter?

It matters because I will want to focus more attention on my teaching blog. It is attached to more than just a blog and ads. This blog sends visitors to my Teacher-Pay-Teacher page where I sell many of my lessons that I’ve created. For many teachers, this is a lifesaver. You’re not recreating the wheel if you have to go and purchase a plan that’s already been created by another teacher. You both end up benefitting.

Since I know that this blog is getting more traffic, I’ll be sure to plug in my newsletter sign up. I’ll be sure to add more content on a schedule. I’ll be sure to keep the site up and running smoothly.

Scheduling Content

Once you find just the right niche that is growing, you definitely want to continue on a set schedule. Then people know when to come back for fresh content. You should try to schedule content at least once or twice a week. If you are not a fast writer, you may want to create content once a week, but make sure that you are publishing on the same day each week. You can easily schedule things ahead of time. This way you have more time for promotion. Writing four articles a month is easy and is something you can generally do on a weekend or during the week. Schedule them to publish on your set days, and work on something else for the rest of the month.
